oh, knock it off with that old vs. young garbage. it has to do with pop culture and the media trying to build up an image for this lot, to move product. i, too, am familiar with noise/glitch sound (fripp/oval/xenakis/etc.) and i can distinguish what sounds good to me with what is also called "marketing bullshit". the music industry is being dishonest with people, encouraging those not familiar with the music to put down cash for it, to pay money to join in the fake-punk attitude, and i don't think that's right. good music is not what some piece of trash of a corporate magazine calls good music. some of you may really enjoy k*d606 and friends, and that's fair. i suppose i'm being a bit heavy-handed in my criticism of their work. but anyone with a lick of sense knows what's going on behind the "scene", so to speak, with this ongoing promotional push. -a. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
