The 660 is a good choice if you are looking for a good set of standard
drum sounds (as well as some unique samples). It has a full 808 and a
partial 909 kit, and many good acoustic snares, toms, kicks, etc. It also
has 2 individual outputs in addition to stereo outs. The FX however are
absolutely terrible, and it's not terribly tweakable. You can do
rudimentary tuning/panning/decay tweaking, but it's all still
sample-based.
I've owned two at different times, but ended up tiring of their sounds
in each case. If you're looking for something a bit electronic and less
typical drum sounds, consider the Korg ER-1.
Squarepusher's stuff being sequenced _all_ on a dr-660 is pretty
bollocks. You can't get those cut-up drum sounds squarepusher is famous
for. (spymania era) Maybe sampled 660.
