I may be late to this thread, but oh well....
Monolake seem only the second techno
producer (after Carl Craig) I can remember
who seem to have gotten consistently
better over the past few years rather than
less interesting. "Hong Kong" was great,
"Interstate" was even better, and the last
two 12"s have been the best releases of
2000 (along with the Isolee album, but that's
mostly pre-2000 material as far as I can tell).
Monolake are doing some fascinating stuff.
Hopefully if/when they release a third album
all four of these singles tracks will appear on it,
along with tracks of a similar caliber!
