review: Simon Fisher Turner "Travelcard" (Sulphur) It's hard to get a grip on SFT's "Travelcard". Turner has had a long and varied career in film and music, and elements from both pop and rock music can be heard in these eight soundtrack-esque tunes -- some are soaring soundscapes, others have a more traditional build. It's not hard to hear that Robin Rimbaud has produced and co-written the material on the album, the more ambient tunes have a typical Scanner-feel to them. "Travelcard" is a fine album, but it's hard to find something on it that really engages. hs _________________________________ it's art...but is it interesting? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
