So, I need some help/recommendations regarding House.
I've always kinda wanted to get more familiar with (more traditional)
House so I was wondering if I could get some leads.
I'm familiar with all the Basic Channel/Chain Reaction/Maurizio/etc.
stuff, Brinkmann, some Studio 1/Profan/Mike Ink, some of the
Sutekh/Twerk/Stewart Walker stuff, some Kompakt stuff and some early acid,
among other things. And I'm familiar with a lot of the classic Detroit
guys (not too familiar with UR though). What I'm looking for is stuff
that's more club oriented (meaning the 4 on the floor is not obscured),
but which still has interesting production. And no diva house (unless it's backed up
by really cool production). A point of reference might be Super_Collider's
"Darn (Cold Way O' Lovin)". The new Twerk album on Force Inc. could also
be a point of reference, though I realize this isn't trad. I'm really into
the skittering hi-hats thing.
Theo Parrish and Green Velvet are some names I'm interested in.
I'm also still confused about the different styles of house.
What makes something deep or progressive or etc. ?
Any good comps to check out ?
Any good "experimental" house recommendations are also welcome.
