hey ppl,
firstly, a good 'clicks+cuts'-idm-style Net radio
station I found via live365.com:
http://members.home.net/brentwatson/
..streams on winamp too, was a good introduction to that
'style' of music to me (snd, microstoria, etc..) i am in
no way associated with it btw :)
secondly, being a Brit in exile in CA, I started getting
the NME on subscription - surprised nobody has mentioned
the latest issue I got (dated 17th June) has a free CD
on the front with a 'London Xpress' mix CD from XFM and
Nuphonic, includes mini-mixes by David Holmes, Harvey,
and Andy Weatherall. David Holmes does his normally cool
soul meets electronica thing, Harvey whacks on some nice
stuff on the techy side of things, including Plaid -
"Ralone", and Andy Weatherall does the most idm-ish mix,
with Plaid - "Tophapy", Lali Puna - "Everywhere All Over"
on Morr Music, and also Burnt Friedman and 7 Hurtz. Top
stuff, I say..
thirdly, i'm looking to start up some new projects on
Monotonik involving more interactive music. mp3s are all
well and good, but there's some interesting opportunities
beyond that. anyone who's interested in helping out on the
coding side (either Java or Windows executables) and likes
our stuff (
http://www.mono211.com), give me an email here
or at h0l@mono211.com.. not paid, i'm afraid, but fun, and
isn't that better than paid? :)
later, alligators.
h0l.
