Yeah, I've been kicking myself in the butt for not going to the Raster-Noton
night. I should've known better but to limit myself to three of the events.
:) I've heard nothing but amazing things about that night.
As for Mandell's, it really didn't do much for me. It was a little too... I
dunno. I didn't like the fact he HAD to keep the beat there and modify the
pitch to do a transition from one song to the next. Songs that had very
little in common with each other. It really broke the mood up AFAIC. But he
does write very good stuff. You have to admit, though, that it was a little
strange hearing his happy hyper melodic stuff after Delay's amazing
performance and Sutekh's gorgeous minimal techno material.
All'n'all, none of the nights I attended were bad. But I would've preferred
a little more physical comfort at Ex-Centris. I'm not sure I appreciate the
Fellini theatre as a live stage. I felt like a sardine sitting on the floor
like that for more than 5 hours. Sound was amazing, though.
Next year, I'll go to more of the shows. Apparently, I won't have to wait
until then. I already hear rumors of more similar shows in October,
organized by the same people. But I didn't hear it from the horse's mouth,
so...

Subject: [idm] thoughts on Mutek?
Just wanted to hear feedback from anyone who attended
Mutek. I thought that the Raster Noton night was the
highlight. Jake Mandell was very impressive too.
Anybody else?
