For those who didn't know - there's a lot of mail-readers with a lot of
powerful features out there... just don't settle for a puny hogmail/yahoo/etc
account, it just won't cut it... get POP3 access and be a happy camper... :)

Anyhow - I'm very much against the idea of making the IDM list web-based, as I
find the way I'm able to handle mailing lists with my mail program (even
though it's Netscape Messenger) much more convenient than web-based
solutions... these also have the problem of not being very useful if you
prefer offline reading (i.e. if you're not on a flat-rate internet
connection)...
I would have no problem with an NNTP (read: news) server being set up for the
IDM list - this would even provide a good archive at the same time and could
be combined with a web interface and an email-based system, which'd pretty
much get the best of everything in one go - but who'd do that?
