it's not silly tho. it happens all the time, someone starts a discussion
about a female [insert profession/art here] and almost immediately someone
will comment on her looks. why can't we forget looks and just judge on
talent or whatever? the sad thing is, it only seems to happen when
discussing women?!!

fair enough. the original message in the thread, however pointed out that
"Chantal is rather unattractive." as a point above a quite serious and
applicable statement, therefore insinuating that her looks are far more
important than her music.
it's just, like, who cares what she looks like? WHY DOES IT MATTER?!
