I think it's boring and pretentious. That whole architectura serious, and particularly the Brasilia one bother me to know end. The idea that some German wanker could sum up a city he's most likely never been to in a mediocre CD is apalling. To quote my friend, Brett: "I am curious if anyone has any considerations on Panacea's "Brasilia" album, at the "conceptual" level... I personally think the concept is a complete load of shit, as it is pretty eurocentric and simply assinine to assign a 60 minute patch of bleeps and then go on to make the statement in the liner notes that it is (in some wording) "the sound of Brasilia." How can one eclectic, European, electronically derived (and rather boring, I might add) CD describe and represent an entire city, especially when that city is reduced simply to its "ultra-futuristic" architecture? Brasilia was "ahead of it's time" in terms of being an extremely industrialized city in the middle of an as-of-then relatively unexploited landscape that is Brazil. I think it's absurd that they printed that BS in the liner notes about Panacea's vision of Brasilia inspiring his soundtrack, (and ultimately, his soundtrack reflecting an inspired Brasilia). And concepts aside, he certainly broke no ground with this disc, and had he broke any ground, it sure as fuck wasn't in the western, or southern, hemisphere."

I was merely pointing out that I think he's a tweaker judging from the fact that he's lost a LOT of wait and he was jumping around like a fool.

I think my problem is more the fact that he's doing things I would've maybe been interested in five years ago, not vice versa. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@cyrus.net http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly [CELL|(888)522.3830] | [CELL|(701)729.1631] | [HOME|(612)676.1817] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
