sorry, but i have to, at this point, jump to the defence of rephlex. the
seriousness of 'the wire' and certain stuff isn't all some of us listen
to.. i don't know if you might have considered that maybe those rephlex
peeps actually LIKE the records they release? *shock*.
i haven't heard the lektrogirl album, but the bodenstandig 2000 album was
one of my very favourites of last year! it reminds me that there are people
in the world who are capable of actually not following the crowd, and maybe
just fucking a bit of shit up here and there.
as for you argument about people buying rephlex releases to be
'completists'..? what the fuck..? if people are gonna be anal enough to go
and buy records that they don't like just because it's cool to own all the
rephlex catalogue then i don't think they are really in any position to
complain about what gets released!! next you are gonna want to buy the
japanese imports too because they've got different catalogue numbers, and
your collections might not be complete without those catalogue numbers.
rephlex DO release consistantly good and exciting records.. and i love them
for it. i don't own the whole back catalogue though, so i presume i can't
be in your gang.
