For hip hop that's expanding boundaries and minds, check Live Human's _Monostereosis_ on FatCat (just reissued in the US on Hip Hop Slam) and their forthcoming album on Matador, _Elefish Jellyphant_. They combine turntablism with live bass, drums, cello, jaw harp and other unconventional instruments to create a mutant strain on this genre. El Stew are also working with a similar m.o. to slightly less interesting effect.
