franz - there was a very limited amount of the "original" 1987 it had samples from ABBA who then threatened to sue..(it sampled whitney houston (whitney joins the jamms) and lots of others.... i happen to be one of the lucky 5,000 or however many got sold before KLF had to agree to have them withdrawn. They then re-released 1987 without any of the samples. if i remember they did some hilarious insert about the whole scenario either on a piece of paper or the inner vinyl sleeve. i bought the re-release, too big difference, there. If you play through the whole album and hear major sample chunks of ABBA you are indeed very lucky. I can double check both of them if you eme off list & when I'm home tomorrow... ps i know about this cuz i interviewed bill drummond in 1987 for a little west coast dj mag i wrote for @ the time... w:) Hi there Does anybody know if the KLF album "1987 (what the fuck is going on)" by any chance has been re:issued? It sounds strange if so, but I found a near mint copy very cheap last weekend. So am I a lucky guy or did I just buy a not-so-good album for no real good reason? thanks in advance, franz coldcut on da radio mon nite 12am-2am gmt http://www.bbc.co.uk/londonlive http://www.worldtimezone.com zentertainment: wed nite 9pm - 3am http://www.piratetv.net http://www.ninjatune.net --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
