idm was originally meant to describe the early meshing of dance music &
some ah-hum-whatever 'intelligent' factor. listen to early autechre &
aphex twin ('incunabula' & polygon window 'surfing on sine waves' should
make the original definition clear to anyone.) since then it has
changed so much that trying to make techno-pop bands such as 'leftfield'
fit the idm bill is regressive & a tad tasteless.
