a bit off topic (idm, that is), but i remember
back in my youth (87ish) djing a new years
eve party (and this was back in the days of
one-DJ-all-night *not* how many damn
djs can we cram on the bill, so i djed from
about 8pm to 8am ish) and i was playing
to a crowd that was from all over canada
(it was a conference) so every hour as the
time change went into effect, people from
each individual time zone did their "happy
new year!". i played a ton of requests, but
none of them were new year related. and
minutes after finishing for the night, carrying
my crates back to the hotel, i said to myself: "geez,
why didn't i break out U2's New Year's Day?!!"
