Why is so much shit talked about 'commercial' or even (god help us)
'unintelligent' techno. I'm not referring entirely to this post, but to
general comments slagging the likes of Fatboy Slim.
'Ver Fatboy puts out happy, enjoyable, dumb party music, and doesn't mind
admitting it.
We're acting like someone who enjoys good wines, and as a reult, refuses to
drink beer in the pub with their mates. I wouldn't sit down and listen to his
music (or that of the Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx etc) like I would
Autechre, but don't sulk when it comes on in a club, or while I'm working.
As for Underworld themselves, they make excellent pop techno. Very simple,
very effective.
Tr*nce still sucks though. Not opinion: fact.
