I saw the show last night in San Diego...
I'm not familiar with his music... but I found the whole show to be very
entertaining. He comes across as a very nice guy. The band, Bulfrog,
that backed him up was great to - they wern't amazing musicians, but
they all played together very well - and the integration of the tables
w/ the band worked very well. I think you should all check this show out
if it is playing anywhere near you. You'll hear a wide variety of music
and beats - and see some amazing things with the turntables. I, have
never seen anything like his skills...
My girlfriend wasn't having a good time, so I unfortunately had to leave
a little after Amon started up. :( I only heard about 8 minutes...
f*@k!!!
I gave a bunch of my music to the band, I was there before the show
helping out - a friend is the promoter that put on the show. SO... they
are hopefully listening to some Sonic Wallpaper right now :)
Before Koala took the stage, one of my new tracks was played and used
for a modern dance piece with about 10 dancers - which was very cool.
Also before Koala, a local artist called Irwin's Conspiracy performed
his flavor of DnB grooves - he plays a midi drum kit with a sampler,
Echoplex and a Theramin - and he produces some great sounds - watching
him play is great - he freaks out on his drum kit and at the same time
is going off on his Theramin - waving his arms about. :)
