for all it's worth, 'earthling' was some of the most ridiculously
obnoxious techno/drum n bass i've ever heard, yes, but the bowie take
was quite original on its own. if you think about it, 'diamond dogs'
was just normal rock n roll... but i'll take 'rebel rebel' over any
rolling stones song anytime.
that said, i'm not that crazy about david bowie but at least he has the
merit of rarely doing the same thing twice.
