i got the mouse on mars cd the same day as i got the pluxus cd. in the nearly two weeks since, pluxus listens: 2 (and i've yet to make it all the way through. a snoozer and not in a warm nap kind of way), mouse on mars listens: i've lost count. i don't generally play albums to death, but this is one of the first full lengths in a while that i've throughly enjoyed. i think i tell everyone i come across about it. music wise, i find it other step in mom wonderful development. i pulled out vuvlaland the other day and while i still like it, they are lightyears beyond that. dsp hackery to be sure, but in a wonderful warm and playful way. i see this record be very successful crossing bountries. it is fucked up and twisted, but yet accessible and fun. while picking one album for 'pick of the year' is ussually a fruitless endevour of comprises, if i had to recommend one cd to a total stranger, this would be it. ben.
