Re: the middle-eastern, loop-based query of a few days back (Orb Material rmx)
Another worthy disc to seek out would be Woob's "1194" CD on Emit - forgot this
one but was listening to it today at 4 AM driving back from the beach, and it's
dope. Maybe not as Middle-Eastern as the Orb remix but it's still amazing, has
tablas and chants and whatnot. The whole disc is subtle and amazing, long
passages where he'll bring in a beat and add layers to it - takes ten or fifteen
minutes to build and subside. Lots of cinematic ambience and barely audible
spoken word bits. Organic, dubby, tribal - realized this morning how much I dig
this disc. May be out of print, but worth hunting for.

Tom Middleton's production on A Man Called Adam's Duende #2 is awesome.
Buy it on sight... (on Other Records).

Ditto - I had a bitch of a time tracking this one down, but it's well worth it.
One of the best house cuts I've heard lately, people are complaining about
Middleton becoming more "commercial" but if this is the direction he's going in
I'm all for it. If you got into GCC's "The Way/The Deep" you should definitely
score this one. Can't wait for Middleton's Modwheel LP to come out (anyone have
spec's on that?) - Brock
