Oh man was I dissappointed when I'd learned that the press/media's first
ravings about the new genre "electronica" didn't refer to these New
Electronica comps I'd been buying then. I thought it was a brave new
world for post-kraftwerk-detroit-techno-whatever and it was flowering in
the media and then I found out they meant "electronica" was these bands
with geetars and drums and nobody had discovered anything cool after all.
Now this label has faded away (the new Ultramarine is an exception) to a
trickle, no a drip. Ugh. Sounds naive, but for a while in '94, I thought
the good stuff was, logically, getting press as "electronica".
