can anybody think of some others? i can't really sit through a full length d&b record these days...the source direct one is close, but i have to leave that on in the background when i'm overcaffeinated and crank it up when it gets to the more aggressive tracks. why do i think a jungle album leavened with tr/hip hop tracks or weird electro sections would be far more palatable than pure d&b for an hour? why wouldn't dj spooky make a whole disc like that track on asphodelic? why do junglists tend to be such genre purists, much to the full-album-listener's chagrin? on now: ICE, bad blood. yeah, sure, jungle's dark. whatever! this is damned well pitch black. yowza! i normally avoid stuff this self consciously ugly these days, but dang is this good. maybe that's just my allergies talking. -rob!
