Exceptional debut album from Scandinavian techno creator Klaus Ammittzboll,
whose brother Fred is a member of Swims other great Danish signing, Silo.
Surging through darker and icier waters than Silos minimal electrorock,
Symptoms operate in a more purely digital vein (with a few guitar
interjections).
Moments of quiet reflection give way to broadsides of melodic drone;
classic ambient hums are rudely shattered by jarring dynamics and analogue
squelches. The unconventional techniques and strange working methods have
produced a truly progressive set.
Already reviewed in Hot Press (Ireland) and Jockey Slut The future sound
of bedroom boffins reminds one of Cluster and Sonic Youths more pastoral
moments.. The result is often inspired Ammittzboll could be big news.
