hmm.. my girlfriend is quite the opposite.. she frequently comments on how inspiring and emotional many IDM tracks are.. especially Plaid, Octopus Inc, BoC, Aphex..

i tend to just listen to what is fitting for the mood i'm in.. IDM for intellectual / playful / introspective Lush, Radiohead, etc for depressed Drum n Bass (current UK style.. Ed Rush, Grooverider, Bristol peeps) for agressive, outgoing and radom other styles as i *feel* fit..
quoted 3 lines someone asked the list how everyone "got into IDM". what did you listen to> someone asked the list how everyone "got into IDM". what did you listen to > before this? for me, seefeel was the bridge from indie/guitar to > electronic. polyfusia still has a lot of the "feel" ofstuff that i used to
i think i bridged a very stange gap (please comment if i'm not alone) from very dark aggressive industrial tracks (tkk, nin, download, etc) to the more aggressive side of electronic.. older jungle, big beat, etc.. then i progressed into the sub-genre of idm.. i dunno.. looking back it seems strange that i complete 180'd from industrial to idm.. they seem so close.. but so far apart in my eyes.. aaron systorm technologies www.systorm.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
