Not to put too fine a point on it, but Metallica is *also* seeking
$100K/song. They're just fscking pissed because their songs aren't
worth nearly that anymore. The kids trading their songs over napster
probably have metallica box sets already and probably also spend
money on Metallica t-shirts, posters, blow-up-dolls and jizz rags....
Maybe metallica *is* losing a few bucks because some of their fans
who are already going broke buying lame metallica gear are getting a
few songs without paying the cover price. I'm personally not gushing
with sympathy for the millionaires exploited by their loyal fans in
this manner.
then again.... maybe you meant to say "unjustified"? Actually now
that I reread your message everything else seems to point in that
direction.... if so, never mind :)
(I still think Metallica are a bunch of blowhards though).
Ben
(ducking out quietly.... I didn't mean to start an IP flamewar, honest!!)
