. Novisad: s/t cd (Tom)
Ten tracks of deep ambient experimentalism from kristian peters in a similar style to the Visor comp cd and the Tom Steinle ep. Highly recommended.
. Wang Inc: s/t 12" (Sonig)
The long awaited new ep from newcomer Bart Sailor on MoM's Sonig label. This one features seven tracks of excellent downtempo experimental electronica not unlike the FX Randomiz or Holosud lps on a-musik. Excellent stuff.
. Music of Our Time comp 2x12" (ici)
An amazing double lp of tracks of tracks recorded live at a recent german electronic music festival. Each of the four sides of this album represent a different german label collective - kompakt, groove attack, a-musik, and normal. The a-side features 20 minutes of live tracks from gas, the modernist, reinhard voigt, and forever sweet. The b-side features 16 minutes of live tracks from karma, ono sendai & dj chestnut. The c-side features a 20 minute live jam by pluramon, schlammpeitiger, fx randomiz, frank dommert, georg odijk and mouse on mars. The d-side features one long track from red krayola. a very cool release and a chance to hear some great german music done live.
. Klangwart: köln-olpe lp (Klangstelle)
Two breathtaking 20+ minute tracks of melodic mouse on mars-lithops-microstoria-style german electronica. This is my first exposure to Klangwart and i'm floored. I need more stuff like this. A must have for sonig/a-musik fans.
. Schlammpeitziger: Endauchharnschleck lp (Entenpfuhl)
A great 11 track album that is actually a remastered reissue of Endauchharnschleck cassette that was released on Entenpfuhl back in 1993. Schlammpeitziger is Joe Zimmermann and FX Randomiz with help from Jan St Werner and Andi Toma. The style of this release is similar to that of the other Schlammpeitziger releases which is an intoxicating blend of a-musikesque krautrock, postrock and electronica. Recommended.
. Jega: Spectrum cd (Matador)
Got the prerelease of the Matador reissue of the Jega album today. It has two new tracks, unity grain & naem, but one track from the Planet µ version, dmc, was left off. The two new tracks are more in the melodic electronica style of Jega's first Skam ep and are a welcome addition to the cd. The track listing was also modified somewhat which also improves this reissue. Another solid release for Matador.
. Pole: LP1 & LP2 2x12"s (Matador)
Got finished copies of both the Matador Pole album releases both on beautifully thick 150 gram vinyl. The LP1 is as beautiful as ever and LP2 is just as good if not a bit better. A must have...
Also recently recieved some superb new stuff from the following labels: Emanate, Suction, Sigma, Mad Monkey, Musik Aus Strom, Bubblecore, Worm Interface, Antiphon, Phonography and Moikai. Comments on those soon.
