I asked this question a few weeks back. Just got back from London (I was in Oxford briefly, but I didn't see any decent record stores) about a week ago, and the advice I received was great: go to Berwick Street. Don't even bother with Tower Records (the only thing I got there was a Public Enemy CD on sale for 6 pounds). It's just off of Oxford street in London (get off the underground at Oxford Circus and walk a few blocks to the east, then turn south onto Berwick Street). There are TONS of great stores there...I was like a kid in a candy store. Some of the best include Select-a-disc, Reckless Records (lots of good used cds and vinyl), Sister Ray, and of course, Ambient Soho (the shop run by the Worm Interface guys). If you're into drum'n'bass, you should also check out the Black Market, which is on a smaller street just off of Berwick street. I hope this helps...Have fun! === chris wicks cwicks@rocketmail.com http://drthunder.ml.org/~cwicks _________________________________________________________ DO YOU YAHOO!?
