Speaking of which, only one person has commented on (missing) the Amon Tobin
show in NYC. Did anyone make it? Did anyone make it to Weatherall and
Tenniswood?
Newer IDM: After first listens, "Connecting Electronix Networks" and Mit
Ohne Sound are pretty impressive. Until last night, it seemed to me that
crunchy/melodic IDM (what someone called in early '98 "the Skam sound/last
year's sound) seemed to have gone as far as it could go. The one side of
"I'm So Bored with the USA" that I listened to is also damn impressive.
Hopefully this portends a newer crop of artists around the corner ready to
do whatever it was that Skam did in '97, minus the etc.
