Just so that this is clear: One of Ken's complaints was that the Plaid
boys didn't get clearance yet from the labels they did the work
under. Depending on what the prior written agreement between the artists
and the label is, they may or may not have free reign over who publishes
their previously released tracks. If you make a track and put it out on
label X, then you hit it big and suddenly it's a jingle for a Toyota
commercial, the label which put your music out will most likely want a
cut. (since they did the legwork and publicity for your now-famous
release) So bottom line is, unless we know for sure what Plaid's
agreements with their labels were, and if they've gotten clearance
recently, we don't know if they're doing anything illicit or not.
