I'd have to disagree. I mean, to this ignorant white boy's ears it sounds
like some good rappingtook me a while to hook into his flow, and his humor,
but he has real skills. And even if you're not a huge fan of rap or vocals in
general, those of you who are fans of RDJ/Vibertesque humor will really like
the Doctor's style. He's a psychedelic robot alien sex-obsessed gynecologist
damnit! Throw in Star Wars references, a Transformers sample, and other
juvenile shit, and you've got an album all you ween fans will love. The man
spent a 5 figure Geffen advance on pornhe must be certifiably insane, or at
least incredibly horny. And how could you buy Instrumentalyst if it doesn't
have Q-Bert on it?
On a related note, i'm still looking for info on which Piklz mixtape to buy.
For those of you in NYC, you can get them in Other Music, top shelf of the
electronic section, only $8.99.
For those of you who haven't seen ads, Bjork is touring the US soon. She's
coming to NYC sometime in December (I think the first sunday) at Hammerstein.
Tix on sale friday AFAIK. I'll pull the trifecta-Stereolab, Portishead, and
Bjork, making me a happy Sam.
