caution: babbling ahead:
Yeah, i knew i might catch a bit of heat from that comment...But what can i
say? some of the shit that goes so highly-touted on this list is precisely
that: shit. I recalled ppl discussing this guy Geist on the list a little
while ago and it sounded interesting, but was disappointed to find what i
thought was just mediocre dabblings in a territory already well-mapped by
other artists...however the key phrase there is 'what i
thought'....opinions opinions opinions. Mr. Geist being a net.guy or a
nice.guy...that should matter? i'm not going to meet him. he may or may not
get wind of my comments being a net.guy. so that's irrelevant. he's a nice
guy so i should feel bad for not liking his record? I'm a nice guy and a
lot of people hate my dj sets. they tell me that _while i'm spinning them_.
but it's just criticism and opinions. it's just one 2-track record. who
knows, his next plate may cause me to fall down and spasmatically soil
myself in a seizure of joy. I never write off an artist based on one
record.
And ok, let me add a sampler to my bowels/vocoder act, then maybe i'll give
Dicky J a call...
