I've never tried this myself, but a vinyl-obsessed friend recommends
getting two sections of plate glass, putting the record inside and leaving
it out in the sun for half-an-hour or however long it takes to permanently
flatten the record. (obviously, don't wait too long or the grooves will
melt right into oblivion).
