I think this is a pretty common phenomenon. Most electronic musicians have to support their passion with a day job :(......I'm in a similar situation, I work in a lab all day and then come home dead tired. I usually get tons of ideas during the day but by the time I get home to my sequencer I'm pretty spent. What I try to do though, is put aside 2 hours a day during the week(it usually ends up being longer) to work on music and as much time as I can squeeze in on the weekends to do stuff. It may take a while for me to get a track done, but the ride is just as fun as the destination. Electronic music is definately hard work, but I've got some massive highs just jamming away with a few synths .....its times like that that make it all worth it.
