jim o'rourke has been doing a WIDE variety of music for a LONG time.. that is one of the reasons i enjoy his output. some of his work with illusion of safety is quite good (though it crosses more into the realm of industrial/experimental/noise/whatever). then he has his more folk/pop stuff, most of which i adore -- but yes, does not fit much with the idm list. but the stuff he has been doing WITH his laptop crosses nicely into the world of idm. personally i am VERY interested to see if he ever combines the popstar + laptoprocker into one sound -- i think he could really come up with something (the only comparison i can make to what i would hope for might be some of the sound fennesz creates). anyway, i guess my point is he is not just on any "tip"... at least in my opinion. he seems to be quite the diverse musician. and yes, i left out many of his projects and most likely a ton of his sounds. ...whatever. we should ONLY talk about idm though. i agree. none of this ambient shit or house bullshit or techno shit or noise garbage. just idm. yah. chris. music for lunchpails . wednesdays 6-9pm . kuci 88.9fm . www.kuci.org it.s ok to like noise it.s okay to like house it.s okay to like pop _we are all lost --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
