just bought a very interesting hip hop album called
Latyrx and it's on solesides (shadow's label). the music goes
far from the trends of modern hip hop, mixing old skool -type
basslines with effects and sounds that are more associated
with electronic music. lyrics (performed wonderfully with extreme
emceeing skills by lyrics born & lateef) contain no typical rap cliches or
gangsterisms and are mostly interesting and adventurous, but in some
tracks, like "the muzapper's mix.." all the singing goes a bit over the
edge of decent, at least in my opinion.
if you are interested in experimental vocal hip hop, i suggest you
have a spin of this wonderful record containing positive vibes seldom
seen in the world of modern hip hop.
