Wayne -- unless you're doing some heavy duty scratching there should be no
reason to be using a tracking force of 3.7 grams. I have stanton 680el(s)
and I use a tracking weight of 2.25 grams and I have no problem cueing or
playing records. Perhaps you should check the alignment of your styli?
They could also be worn or bent which could happen if you were to
accidentally drop or slam the cartridge against the record, etc... It very
well could be excessive stylus wear. Consider going to elliptical styli
when you replace them later on.
