Magnet F: Magnet F Casa De Toad Records CD Homegrown electronics from the American duo of Adam DiAngelo and Eric Sherman. Closest in spirit to Bisk or early Autechre, Magnet F impress with uncluttered melodic and rhythmic sport such as Far Away Far, projecting the effortless space/time continuity of better-known peers. Explosive breakbeats stranded in ambient flux (Imarm) and Flare-like high-hat/snare convolutions (Softie) are especially nice touches. The itchy bass-propelled coilings of Windowless reveal Magnet F's intriguingly experimental leanings. But it's Don't Know Leroy and Memarsis, airy electro- synthetics underpinned by perpetually-mutating drum programing, which convince you that you're hearing the first utterings of a talented and promising new voice.
