I think the reason is that although IMO these are good records (except the Moscheles one, which gets pretty tiresome) they just don't stand up to the magnificence of his earlier work. Tango 'n Vectif and Bluff Limbo are both blinders. Fabulous distorted techno beats with tunes to melt your heart, wierd ambience and an overall breadth of sound which astonishes (me, anyway). Makes a Racket is also incredible with the most tunefull funkiest funk with MP trademark crazy whitles all over the place. Day Time Kiss, Mega Phonk, Acid Pope - need I go on. The later work its all fine stuff to be sure and I'll happily listen to it, but it just doesn't measure up. Cheers, Andrew C. PS - Sorry for the purple prose, but I'm sure you understand :)
