Fairly good idea, but I think I have a better one - currently, majordomo filters out any posts to the lists that contain the word "vnsvbscribe" (replace v with u) and sends them to the list-owner for approval or other action. My suggestion is to add a few keywords that always pop up in these pointless discussions that never go anywhere, say, "mainstream" and "sellout." Cutting out posts that contain these words and nipping these ridiculous discussions in the bud would make the list a much nicer place, I think. (I also think that posting flamebait news about "mainstream" musicians without provocation, which is what started the most recent discussion, should be grounds for removal from the list, but that's probably too much for most people). Of course, an even better solution would be to create an unwritten rule that each listmember should post at least one article containing a review, news item, or other useful contribution to the list, for each article he or she posts that doesn't contain one of these...
