This is Fun! A Night of Sex and Potatoes. Electronic oddities at The Swank, Fort Worth. 4.30.97 DJ Millard Fillmore presiding at midnight to entertain and arouse. Wagon Christ - All My Fingers (Freaks Mix) As One - New Wave Boymerang - Still Hidden Agenda - Rouge Soul Woodenspoon - Souff Souff Dark Comedy - Plankton AFX - AFX 2 Sympletic - Flu Man Spacetime Continuum - Kairo (Carl Craig RMX) As One - We No Longer Understand Move D Meets Ro70 - Untitled Aphex Twin - Goon Gumpos Schematic - Untitled Req - Bell Ambient Hab - Peekabo (Journeyman RMX) Kruder and Dorfmeister - Original Bedroom Rockers DJ Krush - Fucked Up Pendulum Natural Essence - Injury Req - Fantasy Roc Boards of Canada - Turquoise Hexagon Sun Gescom - Mag Fusion - Dirty Kay Friend - Eight Ball Hidden Agenda - Swingtime Spacetime Continuum - Kairo (Subtropic Absolut Black RMX) Went all over on this one. Crowd favorites : Boymerang, AFX, Sympletic, K+D, Fusion. Odd stares : Woodenspoon, Schematic, Req. DAMN CARL CRAIG! Intro to his Kairo Remix was so long, that there was a good minute of beatlessness after _Flu Man_ had ended. Argh. I'll never do that again. I wore my [recently discovered] Aphex Twin mask during the AFX track. Got a few laughs out of that. DOT tracks rule. Thank you PJ. Hab remix especially. Do yourself a favor and track down the new Dark Comedy material from Kenny Larkin. Some of the best Detroit techno since, well, since his last album. Anybody know anything about Schematic? I picked up a 4 track EP yesterday. Nothing on the sleve save for silver paint; nothing on the label except silver paint. Really odd, abstract electro bleeping and burping. I'd like to know more. New Orleans residents - prepare yourselves for a weekly This is Fun! event at an unnamed venue on Decatur St this summer! grant.h.horne
