This is true, but on the flip side you would be forever known by me,
for that first piece you put up that i listened to and didn't like. Its
sorta the dilema of modern distribution via the web. 'When am i good enough
that poeple will enjoy the work i do'. You can say that you are only doing
it for yourself, and if thats it than great, do it for yourself, but this
wouldnt really fit with trying to get others to listen to it. Its really
only after i had gotten very comfortable with what i am doing that i felt it
neccesary to really actively pursue distribution. Luckily i felt a like
minded sole in nate harrison who felt the sameway. However without the
support of a peer group (and for some people their percieved peer group
could very well be the lists they are on), i most likely would not be
producing tracks today with the same amount of joy that i currently get from
it. Its this group that you bounce ideas off of, and who give you the
critical feedback you need in order to become better at your craft. I dont
really think you can do that with a group as large as this list, or the
internet in general. You need to start small and gradually build up support
from your peers and from those whom you dont know.
ok i guess im rambling, I dont disagree with you at all mr. advance.
We all started at some point somewhere, i just guess its what you do after
you start that shapes things.

as far as i can tell.. at one point we were all young and inexperienced..
when i was a wee lad, if i had access to a medium as broad as the web..
i would have put every little finger painting and home movie i ever made up
on a site..
