Ok, I've been holding my tongue and I can't anymore. What you are reading is all 100% 'IMHO'. :rant on: 1: For Sale lists and auction announcements Complete bullshit. If you want to find this shit, you're constantly searching for it, either on ebay, whitezone-l, etc. This isn't a 'FS' list, it's a music discussion list. I wouldn't be as upset about this if certain people wouldn't continually post reminders and auction updates. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 2: List member artist spam This wasn't really a problem 'round these parts until the advent of mp3 and sites like mp3.com. Now what we have to endure is a constant barrage of posts from every kid with a computer, thinking that having a few tracks on mp3.com constitutes 'releases' and that a 'net' label with pending 'releases' is the same as an established record label. I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade but 99% of the people on this list KNOW who is making good music and where their tracks are located. Personally, I enjoy an influx of new talent and music but I don't enjoy individuals repeatedly posting about their 'latest' tracks. It's called 'Blatant Self Promotion' (or BSP for short) and it's something that should be done sparingly, at the risk of looking like selfabsorbed/selfcentered. A simple link to your site in your sig should be sufficient. :rant off: Sorry if I sound like a prick, these are just things that have been diminishing *my* enjoyment of this list lately. Thank you for listening, brock. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
