I saw *four* new Japanese compilations yesterday at Virgin San Fran:
- The Aphex Twin Singles Compilation, basically collecting "On", "Donkey
Rhubarb", and "Ventolin" - and not all the versions either - just 11 tracks
culled from the many EPs. So if you've got them all, this is pretty useless.
*Unless* you're a total trainspotter and must have track 12, "Respect List",
which I guess is RDJ giving shouts to people he cares about. Or something like
that. I have no idea what it might be. And despite my faltering Japanese
skills, I read on the spine that the tracks were chosen by RDJ himself for the
comp.
- There are also similar-looking comps for Warp, R&S, and Rising High. The
tracks are old and new, like the Warp comp has Sweet Exorcist as well as some
AI tracks. The R&S one is not the same as the Vintage CDs that R&S themselves
have been putting out. Overall I didn't see any rare tracks that made me want
to pick up any of the three. There was a "Balil : Nort Route" on the R&S one,
but I think it's the same version that's on Intergalactic Beats.
BTW, MTV had a ChemBros spotlight thing for the MTV News segment, showing them
in concert somewhere. MTV said the new album "Dig Your Own Hole" will be out
sometime in March. With another US tour following that. Opening for U2,
probably.

[I want to] just... sit in a room with George Lucas and let him know that,
hey... I'd be Lando Calrissian's father... I'd be Luke Skywalker's slave. //
