I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I thought I'd chime in:
That part where she's watching the TV's through the store window and those
little phrases flash on: well, those phrases (or at least the ones I could make
out) are chapter titles from Douglas Coupland's infamous novel, "Generation X."
"Remember Earth Clearly"
"Monsters Exist"
etc.
so now you know...
