There is more space to fill at the edge than nearer the center, but the
speed at which the edgetrack spins is higher than the speed of the
centertrack, because the rotation speed is the same, e.g. 33 rpm, but the
edgetrack is more away from the center and speed=radius*rotationspeed.
So the space between the dots is larger at the edge, but the speed as
well, so the actual time between the dots remains the same.
On a related tip: I've been told that pressing at 33 or 45 has a different
effect on the volume, one (which one?) is louder than the other. Is this
true and what is the explanation?
