How many people have bought the Mind Over Midi CD from BeatService? I have and I'm pretty impressed. The album sometimes shows up its origins as a collection partly made up of tracks from EPs, by the variety of the material, which varies from tough acidic dancefloor techno to brain-twisting mellow experiences. But this is not the overriding feeling, as in fact the album flows rather well from one track to another. There are some really hypnotic moments, such as the track "Elektrical Aktivity", and some sweet delicate black-doggy tracks too. It's more of a techno album than much of the current stuff being discussed on idm, but its much more of an idm album than something like Joey Beltram or Steve Stoll, where the bang-bang factor is around 100%. I have not listened to this album enough yet - it's quite subtle rather than immediately memorable, but it is an accomplished and interesting piece. worth 7/10 J ^ __________ ________.__/_____ _||_/ James Skilton aka Steady J _[]/_____________[.__\____-_ DJ and Party Animal | | Part Time Hedonist |____________________________| Full Time Technohead |__|-' '-|__| Steady-J@ftp.com Autechre and SKAM discogs: http://subnet.virtual-pc.com/~sk393820/
