I'll start here: ozymandias writes:

Why is it that every time I post, I seem to be picking on Gonzi? I dunno. Perhaps because the only things I reply to are the ones that really piss me off. Gonzi, the idea of pointing to someone's diary, public or not, and using that to denigrate them is just plain fucking *wrong*. Didn't your mother teach you any manners? If anyone out there does follow this link, check out the rest of the diary, and the site, while you're there. If someone's going to give you an open look into their soul, free of charge, the least you could do is get the whole story. Regardless, ozy writes things for this list that are *useful*. With the exception of his final post, his posts are well-thought-out, erudite, and informative. In short, he doesn't provide bales of fanboy ranting, off-topic posts and daily updates to a web page that anybody with a rudimentary knowledge of the Web could find. This list *is* getting worse. There's a serious lack of signal among all the noise. My heartfelt thanks to those who review albums and discuss the music. If my experience is any guide, posted reviews might have well just been dropped down a hole for all the response they garner. Back in the Good Old Days, people seemed to think that the music was worth talking about. I don't *think* the music's gotten worse, though I'd be willing to entertain the idea for the sake of discussion, so how come we never talk about it anymore? Three of my last four posts to this list have been cranky and cantankerous, and I apologize for contributing to the problem. I'll post some reviews as soon as I get some time. Replies to the first three paragraphs by e-mail, please. Jesse --- Jesse Stricker (jds19@acpub.duke.edu) http://www.duke.edu/~jds19
