Just scammed a promo, although I'm not sure whether it's _Cylobian Sunset_
or the _Loops and Breaks_ thing. I think its the first one for the simple
reason that there uh, aren't any obvious loops and breaks on it.
Trainspotting phreaks - the cat is CAT033LP.
Think of the Kinesthesia LP but with more beats and a little less simplicity
and you're on the right lines. Highlights are the moody last track on side
one, the shuffling AFX funk of the first track on side two (due to appear on
a Teep mixtape near you soon, I'll wager) and the gorgeous chords on track
four, side two. My copy is only one slab of vinyl - for some reason I
thought _Sunset_ was two. Whatever, there are four tracks on the first side
and five on the second so it must be a pretty large LP if its a double.
Anyway, on the few quick listens I've had, this sounds like it could be the
best Chris Jeffs release yet. Pretty fucking good although without the balls
of the Kinesthesia 12"s. And to reiterate, nothing like _Industrial Folk Songs_.
Also picked up Photeks _Hidden Camera_ which I passed up last week in favour
of the Squarepusher LP. Needless to say it's the mutts nuts.
And finally, this is probably my last post as I leave uni. tomorrow
(assuming here that I actually passed my exams :) so see y'all and take care.
