I spent about 1800$ on a setup (with a real nice Turtle Beach soundcard) for which I had precisely the same thing in mind. Imagine my chagrin when I had *exactly* the same problem which persisted no matter what kind of filter, etc. I used (even on the AC plug). Let me ask you one simple question (which I posted to the list just because it is SO simple and saved me so much money. Do you know what it costs to have someone come in and check your entire system for shorts?!)...is your amp connected in any way to your cable tv setup? Cable connex are poorly shielded and infamous for introducing low frequency hum into environments such as the one you're using. Try disconnecting your cable input (if you have one) from your amp. Hope this helps. jeff ps I don't label cdrs simply because a label can often imbalance it. Not noticeable for normal play, but if you try high speed DAE with it (to make another copy/whatever) later, you just may find it impossible without dropping speed radically. Howard Shih wrote:
