I figured I'd ask you guys about this since there's a lot of IDM releases that are vinyl only... I'm burning a bunch of my 12"s and albums to hard disk by hooking the tape outs from my stereo to the RCA inputs of my soundcard (audiomedia II) and it sounds fine for the most part. However, there's this low level hum that becomes noticeable during quiet passages. It's not just turntable noise. It really becomes audible if I raise the pitch of the recordings/samples... Does anyone else have this problem or know how to get rid of it? Is it as simple as getting a better turntable? And while I'm at it, can anyone recommend a good cdr labeling program/package? thanx!
